NOYO's Lab Group is a collaborative composing ensemble that focuses entirely on the production of new work. Making use of practices from the worlds of improvisation and traditional and experimental composition, Lab Group participants are empowered to make creative decisions and discover new horizons.

Colin Holter
NOYO Executive Director and Lab Group Director Dr. Colin Holter holds degrees in composition from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (BA summa cum laude), the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (MMus), Brunel University London (MPhil), and the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities (PhD). In addition to his work with NOYO and his activities as a composer of concert and electroacoustic music, a collaborator with theatre and dance artists, and an occasional writer on music, he serves as the Managing Editor for 113 Composers Collective (St. Paul, MN).
