Running from August 2 through 7, this remote program provides participants the opportunity to hone their instrumental techniques, explore new musical horizons, and collaborate with their friends before the school year begins! Virtual Summer Music 2020 is open to beginning- and intermediate-level (entering grades 5 through 9) instrumentalists of all kinds. A blend of at-home activities and video coachings with an expert staff led by Sinfonietta Strings conductor Mrs. Peggie Willett, Amati Strings conductor Mrs. Katie Holaway, and Wind Symphony conductor Mrs. Rachel Boettler will be offered each day. Best of all, you can take part in Virtual Summer Music 2020 without leaving your house!

Wind Symphony director Mrs. Rachel Boettler is the middle school band director at Midview Middle School. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from The University of Akron where she participated in numerous performing ensembles including the Symphonic Band, Marching Band, and the Flute and Guitar Festival Musicians in Assisi, Italy. Mrs. Boettler is a recipient of the American School Band Directors Association Outstanding Potential Award. Though early in her professional career, Mrs. Boettler has consistently been passionate about teaching music and a providing safe and rewarding environment for her students to learn and grow as musicians.
Katie Holaway teaches orchestra for the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District. Mrs. Holaway also maintains a private cello studio and enjoys performing throughout the Northeast Ohio community. She has previously held teaching positions in South Carolina and Alabama. A dedicated educator, Mrs. Holaway believes in fostering within her students a lifelong love and appreciation for the arts. Mrs. Holaway holds a B.M. and a M.M. degree in Cello Performance from the University of Alabama as well as a M.A.T. degree in Music Education from the University of South Carolina.
NOYO Sinfonietta Strings Conductor Peggie O’Neal Willett is Director of Elementary/Middle Orchestras for the Avon Local Schools. She has taught strings in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas. She brings to the classroom and podium a wealth of experience gained from her work as an orchestra director, teacher, adjudicator, clinician and conductor. Mrs. Willett holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Baldwin Wallace University and a Master of Music Education from West Chester University.
