Sinfonietta Strings Audition Requirements

NOYO accepts Sinfonietta Strings auditions on the following instruments:

Violin
Viola
Cello
Bass
Harp

Scales

Be prepared to play the following scales (2-3 octaves, player’s choice):

C Major
G Major
D Major
A Major
F Major
B-flat Major

Solo

Select and prepare a solo or etude of your choice. The music you pick should demonstrates your playing ability: for example, if you are shifting or using advancing bow styles, choose a solo that permits you to use these skills. If you are using vibrato, use it in your solo. The level of difficulty should be comparable to Suzuki Books 3 and above or publisher grade levels of 2.5 and above. Solos should be no more than three minutes in length.
